Day One
Flight from London Heathrow to Los Angeles-GDI representative will
be at the check-in desk to assist you
On arrival you will be met by a GDI representative and transferred
by coach to the world famous Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel where there
will be an evening buffet reception in the Clark Gable, Carole
Lombard penthouse suite
Day Two
After breakfast we will walk the short distance to the Historic
Egyptian Theatre for
the excellent ‘Forever Hollywood’ film
after which our expert guide will take you on a 75 minute walking
tour of Historic
Hollywood Boulevard with all its famous buildings,
landmarks and fabulous movie palaces which have now been restored
to their original
splendour. We will stop for lunch at the famous ‘Pig
and Whistle’ restaurant which was frequented
by the Stars and their children After lunch we will take the bus
for the Sony Pictures Tour. Evening at
leisure.
Day Three
Breakfast at the fabulous Beverly Hills Hotel! After
breakfast you will board the
bus on a tour of Beverly Hills including a peek at the Stars homes.
No guarantees
they will be in though!
We will then go onto funky Sunset Strip and
wacky Melrose
Avenue – home of
Retro clothing. We will stop for lunch at Farmers Market (not
included) After lunch a visit the Hollywood Forever
Cemetery, final
resting place to the
Stars. . This evening we will have dinner at a famous historic
Hollywood restaurant
Day Four
After breakfast we will cross the road and visit Hollywood
and Highland new home
of the Kodak Theatre and the Oscars. Then onward to the Hollywood
Heritage
Museum which contains some fascinating artefacts of the pioneering
days of
Hollywood. A member of the historical staff will be on hand to
give us a short
talk and an insight into those early days. We will also stop atop
the Hollywood
Hills, under the famed Hollywood Sign at the Griffith Observatory,
site of scene
from East of Eden with James
Dean. We will then go Downtown to
Olvera Street which is the oldest in Los Angeles for lunch. After a leisurely
lunch our guide will
take you on a walking tour of Downtown with
its stunning movie palaces, one of which we will visit, permission
permitting. Downtown is home to some well known movie locations and we will also visit
the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion which was the old home of the Oscars.

Day Five
After breakfast our bus will take us to Warner Brothers
studios.
The
original studios were founded in 1923 by Jack Sam Harry and Albert
Warner and
were located on Sunset Boulevard. Now one of Hollywood’s
busiest studios our tour
starts with a look at it’s historical past and brings us
up to date with current
productions.We will stop for lunch (not included)., after lunch
we will visit the Melody Ranch.
This ranch was
made famous by Gene Autry and hundreds of Westerns were made
there when it
started out as Monogram Studios back in 1915. Since then it has
hosted films
including Elvis Presley in ‘Kissin’ Cousins , and the
series Gunsmoke, Hopalong
Cassidy and many others.
Day Six
Day at leisure to do that last minute shopping, or just relax by
the pool.
Evening – Farewell dinner at the the world renowned Beverly
Wilshire Hotel home
to that ‘Pretty Woman’ Julia Roberts and of course
Richard Gere in the classic film
Day Seven
After breakfast you will again
have time to shop or relax before
we leave the hotel
In the late afternoon for our return flight to London
IMPORTANT: Gdi reserve the right to substitute visits to various
locations in the event that the landmark may be closed or being
used for filming. Where possible you will be advised of this
prior to travel or on arrival into Los Angeles. We will include
another
historic site should this occur. Please note that the Griffith
Observatory is closed for renovations at present but there are
ample picture opportunities to film the building from its grounds.
This is also a wonderful area to film the Hollywood sign
